I see other creators who post their works and call them a, “city” when they wimp out and it only consists of 20-40 buildings.  That’s not a city, this is a city.

WARNING: This map is only to serve your campaign’s purpose to travel through the city using theater of the mind UNLESS you want to download my other maps pertaining to the points of interest I dotted throughout the map.  FPS will be guaranteed to drop to 10-15 if you zoom out completely.  Keep your white elevation marker below half or close to the district you’re traveling through and your FPS will increase to 30fps.  The map is still playable as your party shouldn’t be moving around a lot all the time.

My campaign focuses on one country in particular: The Gilden Empire.  The capital city is Palladium which is the map you’re looking at right now.  The city is divided into 3 classes of citizens: Low-Class, Middle-Class, and Nobility that is also divided with Lower and Upper classes.  It should be obvious which represents what, but to make it simple: Red/straw roof = Low-Class, Moorgoth/Black roofs = Middle-Class, and Marble mixed with green/moorgoth = Nobility.  There are a few POI’s I dotted throughout the city that can be immediately found by the party as they’re given a crude drawing of the city when first entering (or you can hide the markers to make the party find them.)  Legend has it, this city was previously owned by giants (explaining the massive city walls) thousands of years ago, the Gilden Empire came across it abandoned and took it over, building a city over 250 years.

The POI’s I have planned are:

The Royal Palace – Roman Emperor Palace

The Roman Colosseum – capital prison – x36 temples Ancient Roman Building The Maison Carree dedicated to each Greek/Roman God (or demi-god however you see it) – The Merchant’s GuildCraftsmen’s Guild

Adventurer’s Guild/Adventurer’s LeagueBard’s Guild / The Poet’s Society – x1 Cathedral – The Infinite Labyrinth Gate Entrance (infinite dungeon crawls)

– a few unique shops that are purposely hidden from party as they contain the best prices to buy magic swag Gant’s Alchemy Emporium – From The Book of Random Encounters Pg. 126 & ‘Mage You Look’ Magic Item Shop – From The Book of Random Encounters Pg. 128 – x1 commercial district the party can visit

– x2 port areas outside the walls – x1 shanty town beggar camp (can use for rogue activities) – x4 customs and trades warehouses (used as inspection for anyone entering to check in items being brought in) – a hidden high-end Gentlemen’s Club that acts as a secret meeting place for the most powerful to gather and discuss behind the scenes shady topics

– Collegia of Magic (Magic School) – and other places I plan to add in the future such as if the rogue wanted to burgle houses I’ll add a residental district, maybe more shops over time, etc.  Enjoy and let me know your thoughts or the names of shops you added to your map and district, and I’ll update this map to add you in 🙂

UPDATES:
1.1: Added some AOE markers to make it simpler to find POI locations.

Statistics for DM to consider: Approximately 50 miles in diameter (or 400 square tiles from gate to gate), 1,963sq. ft. (the equivalent to the city of Jacksonville, Florida), it would take the party 2-3 hours to travel through one district if riding on a mount or cart, double the travel time on foot.  City walls are at least 200ft and always watched on the Nobility side.

Ah I almost forgot!  Big thanks to aphterlyfe for the Modular Stone Walls & Basilisk Gate as this save me a WHOLE lot of time to lay out the edges of the city at the beginning.  Zokhart for the Crook’s Nook – Bridge/Inn as I used the bridge portion for the river to the south, PrincessP0Pcorn once again for the Fishing Boats, Gun Boats, you know… , Ooiittee for the Row Boat / Cave Boat , Gengar for the Waterdeep City Map (low detail) which was a huge help mixing different combos, also I’m pretty sure I also used Oakblade for the Elturel City Map , and just want to give a shout out to Dustdown for their Capital Prison I plan to use in my campaign (I made a miniature scale model of your prison).  Last, but not least,  istallri Astra for the LOW DETAIL CITY – Grim Version really helped with additional variety of buildings.  Thank you all for your creations!
