Yes this Alchemy shop does look boring on the outside, but its the inside that’s really intriguing.  This is an Alchemy shop pulled straight out of the Book of Random Encounters page 126.  This shop has a cheapskate owner who refuses to barter with anyone unless he likes you (you’ll be thrown out if attempting to barter without gaining favor).  If you speak about his research, he’s very secretive and the party will even notice he locks his interior door which shows he’s hiding something.  The backroom is just a typical alchemy room but further investigation would reveal there’s a hidden door leading to his basement where his real workshop is found.  An Experimentation table for tamed beasts to extract ingredients for very rare potions, supplies of currently brewing potions, and other surprises the party can find.  Any fighting in the basement could risk a roof collapse if enough pillars are knocked out.
