A large city called High-harth, flanked by beaches and a navy military camp. some locations have recently been attacked. Old rusted weapons in the sand and a battle damaged Main dock to the east and a great lighthouse crumbled to the west

    • Thank you, had taken a long break from making TS maps, this one i rather enjoyed making, its not finished really, its going to have an associated map that is subterranean, thank you for the kind words 🙂

  1. There are a lot of good things here, but one inferior aspect that sticks out to the eye immediately is your straight roads. Check Istallri’s and PsiaBaba’s builds to see how superior their more natural snaking paths and roads are. Pretty much nothing should be straight in a TaleSpire build, first and above all because nothing is straight in life (and especially in medieval times), but also because due to its blocky nature, straight stuff in TaleSpire looks low-res, low-detail and low-quality. Stick with it though and you’ll get it. And it goes without saying that making everything twisting takes a hell of a lot of work.

    • its a personal choice thing, I’m pretty practiced at TS. i understand the criticism but I also don’t like Istallri’s solution, its not a bad solution its just not for me, id rather just iterate on it and detail it progressively,

      • I think the grid system was prevalent in many cities, and part of a lot of places designs. While the curves are great and very well suited to some boards, I would have to say a variety of different looking cities is key in any campaign, for it adds flavor and can even generate subtle and cool distinct locations with stories as to why the cities look different (e.g. location, government). So, having said that, I love the build, and I think it looks great! I will say that it would be nice for my personal campaign to have more room in the water to maneuver, but that is for my personal taste and reasons. Again, great build!

  2. Absolutely gorgeous! The buildings that are half underground are a brilliant idea – a style of it’s own.
But the place you shine in my opinion are all the ruins with those nifty details! Can’t wait for the finished board to see what other cool ideas I could steal 🙂
