Underground Bar

Slab

A noisy bar nestled within the remains of a run down underground shopping strip. Features limited street view and backdrop. Interior includes seating, open play space, bar counter, ‘arcade’ corner, bathrooms. Built in visual ‘dungeon’ style rather than artistic staging.

NARRATIVE SUPPLEMENTARY

EXTERIOR
A drab city street sits beneath the looming shadow of a tall brick building. Nestled in the corner is an underground staircase. Signage mounted beside it indicates it to be some sort of shopping area.

SHOPPING STRIP
A concrete staircase is illuminated by tall, moving advertisements until culminating into a filthy and dimly lit corridor. The dull hum of aging ventilation on the far wall inundates the space with background noise; and the main source of light is spent shining on trash and a worn couch in the corner. Rusted and firmly shut security shutters block off access to what can only be assumed abandoned shops to the left, and a significantly more well-kept airlock style door sits on the right.

INTERSTITIAL
Opening the door allows the constant beating of muffled bass in the distance to fill the air. Neon fixtures bathe the revealed hallway with blue light. Another airlock-style door sits at the end of the hall.

BAR
The gaudy, futuristic interior of the bar is enunciated with loud, rhythmic EDM. Sectional booths line the side of the room, fit into cubbies with an accompanying table to each and lit up with blue light. On the far side of the room is a set of archaic arcade cabinets and a door marked with a neutral bathroom sign. The bar counter stands slightly elevated and outlined with more neon blue lights. Cushioned barstools stand all around the bar, while behind the counter lines numerous bottles on backlit shelves as well as a pair of televisions displaying two different mildly interesting programs.
Tucked into the back of the bar is a more classical seating area with yellow light fixtures and comfortable chairs. Another television sits in the corner, tuned to the local news.

BATHROOMS
The bathrooms are in good condition albeit a little cramped. Nothing of particular interest here, although it is quite well proofed to the noise in the bar.
