The war against the Nexus invaders left the world of Saurre in ruins, and the Saurre Triumvirate devastated. Their home was gone, annihilated by their hand in a desperate attempt to end the threat of the machine invaders. Rather than leave their world behind, and let their Terraformer build their lost planet, they elected to stay, living atop the very Terraformer that they sought to bring back their world with.

Time passed. Their city grew atop the Terraformer… but soon it became clear that there were those who tired of the old way of life. The Saurre Triumvirate were a warfare-centric society, but changes were starting to show. In time, a new way of life bloomed for the people of the Saurre Triumvirate. One which let the people cast off their ties to the old laws and creeds.

Soon the city itself had become as divided as the ideals of its people. On one side resided those who adhered to the Old-Law; for the three reptilian races, the caste system was a beacon of order. The fragile but mentally-gifted Vyzharri were leaders. The durable and agile Lizzar were warriors. The strong and hearty Torgen were laborers. Everything had its place, and through adherence, order was maintained. On the other side were those who followed the New-Way; those who wished to take on a profession could be allowed to do so, provided they knew how to perform it, or were willing to learn. Whilst Old-Law lived in rounded structures and had simple décor, New-Way resided in modular homes, stacked tall and adjusted for traversal, often filled with things that the occupants found interesting. Old-Law wore simplistic metal armors and robes, New-Way wore whatever they felt expressed themselves, and donned paint reminiscent of their eye colors. Even their handling of their flora was different; whereas Old-Law would often have homes which let trees grow within it, New-Way allowed their flora to bloom freely wherever it wished. The markets of each side was vastly different; due to the simpler needs of the Old-Law, their market was smaller, more compact. New-Way, because of their willingness to explore societies beyond their own, often had several new imports in their Upper Interests market. Martial Arts holofilms, Galactic Network records, exotic offworld plants, weapons of warfare, occult magazines, even just random crap that was too cool to ignore…

In its current form, the duality of Old-Law and New-Way has split apart family units and close kinships. It is not known if the conflict will subside, but with every altercation, from small cross-faction arguments to guerilla attacks and sabotage efforts, it is clearly building to something dangerous to all of the Saurre Triumvirate: Civil War.

(A great big solarpunk-style city comprised of two separate styles of living. Most buildings are unfurnished, though the modular housing of New-Way does have some default furniture. I’m pretty sure the New-Way houses are all accessible, but I wouldn’t put it past me to miss a ladder or bridge somewhere.)
