Cloudtop Cloister [Remote Monastery]
Board

Inspired by the Meteora Monasteries in Greece.
The monastery is what you make it and features a wide variety of rooms and locations for the players to explore:
- Docks (can be deleted to imply that this location is high up on a mountain)
- Guard house (we don’t let in just about anyone here)
- Kitchen
- Large library
- Sacred Shrine
- Dining Room & Sleeping Quarters
- Vegetable Garden
- Semi-Secret passageways (optional)
- Two separate crypts
The cloister is designed to be a friendly place with vibrant colors, but it can also work at night. An atmosphere block is provided.
Ideas for how the cloister fits into your campaign:
- As a place to rest between quests
- Defend against a violent threat that plans to assault the cloister
- Epic dragon battle – Ground Zero
- Murder mystery
- Special infiltration mission to access the crypts and hunt for treasure
- Special reward for players as a private hideout
- Investigative missions
Hope you’ll find a way to use it in your campaigns. Would love to hear about it!

I plan to use this as an origin for PC’s who took the monk class, this looks fantastic! I’d like to make a request to see more Greek/Roman buildings similar to this, I have a huge campaign that revolves around the roman era and I’m eager to find more buildings fitting this era. Thanks for your hard work!
That’s a great use of it! 😀 Hope they find it homey!
Will definitely be looking at more Greek/Roman style builds. It’s tough to do properly as the Marble Palace set is amazing, but missing some key elements of the era. Will definitely revisit this style though, so keep an eye out. 🙂 Any particular buildings you’re looking for btw?
Yeah I was only able to replicate a few in my creation list. I’d love to see more residental homes or shops. I’m trying to make the noble district appear classical than the rest of the city so that would be awesome!
Cool! I might take a stab at some homes and shops down the road. Are you looking for historical accuracy, or just the theme/feel of the era? Do you prefer small diorama builds (like this one) or are you more looking for slabs that can be assembled into a larger city?
You might find some use of this set:

And this Desert Inn might fit an outpost in the roman empire.

I’ve started a Collection called ‘Swords and Sandals’ where I’ll gather what I find and make in this theme.

Either ones you’re willing to do! I’m always expanding my campaign.
Shops/home is coming later today I think. Working on a base slab set so people can assemble their own roman town/street.
Built a temple to warm up (will improve roof to me historically accurate in the future). Gathering everything in the Swords & Sandals Collection:
