Low Detail City Contest Announcement

Today we’re excited to announce a new TaleSpire contest. Tales Tavern is proud to help and partner with Istallri Astra on a new contest around his new Low Detail City collection of slabs. Join in, have fun, build something exciting AND win a Steam Gift Card!

Your goal is to build a new city exclusively using pieces found in Istallri’s Low Detail City collection for the TaleSpire community to enjoy. You have until November 8th to enter and you can find all the details and upload your slab entry at https://talestavern.com/ldccontest/ .

The judges will be looking for creativity, playability and overall aesthetics in the new slab. Other than that, have fun. We can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Let the dice rolling begin!

BouncyRock has just released an update to TaleSpire. You can now roll dice from a browser url which will open TaleSpire and take the action requested. There is more planned down the road but this gets a start at allowing external interactions with TaleSpire.

As an example the url like talespire://dice/d20-3+d12-1 causes something like this to show in game.

Will this help or hurt your dice rolling addiction? Let’s find out.

Note: for those just getting the update, you must update TaleSpire AND start it once for the urls to start working.

Biomes of Ice & Dust Expansion Released

You and your traveling companions have been traveling for half of a ten day now. The blistering sun which rides high in the desert sky seems unforgiving. The desert, as you and your group already know by now, is a terrible place to travel. The five of you discuss your regrets and often bicker of the sun and the brightness of it all. The tanned cracked dirt beneath your boots, the rigid brown cliff faces, only off putted by the occasional sight of green cacti. Hopefully the loot will be worth it….

Talespire’s newest update: Biomes of Ice and Dust, brings thirty six new amazing tiles to the table for all of your harsh adventuring. May it be for an unforgiving journey to an ancient pyramid in the heated desert, or a marathon of hiking through a stormy blizzard up a mountain to slaughter an ancient white dragon.

Within talespires latest asset bundle contains tiles for desert, tsundra, and jungle environments. For deserts this asset pack includes eight ground tiles of varying designs and then six props to liven up the surroundings (as much as you can within a desert). The asset pack also includes an entourage of cliff faces and rock piles for desert environments.

The tanned colors of rocks and dirt isn’t the only thing included however, as mentioned early Talespire is preparing you and your players for a harsh winter with eleven assets which are sure to immerse your players within the chilled reality of your game. A variety of dead bushes, snow mounds and snowy cliffs and boulders are included. And lastly but not least, a few misc assets were added in this pack, those being a handful of jungle plants and ferns along with a few rocks and boulders.

BouncyRock once again brings yet another update to Talespire which helps bring players further into an immersive world for which Game Masters and Dungeon Masters can drag their players into for a night of virtual tabletop fun. You’ll adore the snowy aesthetic of this update. We’ve used multiple tiles from this to create a low level one shot involving a white dragon wyrmling. Here’s the link to the TaleSpire slab We’ve created for this one shot using assets from this update, hopefully it brings you inspiration, and if you need to use it for a last second “Oh crap, I forgot to prep!” go right ahead!

Check them out the new assets here.

Enchanted Forest Booster Pack has arrived

The woods are not merely alive, they are watching. You are leading your friends and compatriots into the forgotten forest- why was it forgotten again? You remember talking to the town elder about something pressing and a salivating amount of gold on offer for the job but, for the life of you it escapes your memory…before your foot catches on a root that you swear jumps up to trip you to the ground. Your face smacks the soil hard leaving you dazed as you rear up, suddenly faced with a toad. Or at least the belly of one, a big one, nay a man-sized one that croaks deeply as you scramble back to your party. But they are already drawing their weapons, hoisting you up as the same tree that tripped you begins to shift and shamble towards the team threateningly. It seems you might have forgotten a few important details about this enchanted forest…

Talespire’s Enchanted Forest booster pack is a small package for your favorite digital tabletop system, but as with the winged fairy included within- size isn’t everything! Four minis for your foray into magical woods untarnished by man join the ranks of the wonderful fey models Bouncyrock Studio has intricately put together. It isn’t hard to find uses for any of these, in and out of the feytouched woodlands!

First is the tiny fairy of the forest, a green-clad pixie with wings like a dragonfly whose ginger hair flutters about as if mid-flight. This fey creature is more tied to her realm than the rest, where she sprinkles magical dust to keep the woods alive and brimming with enchantment. Next to the giant toad, a surly-looking amphibian with a horned and wrinkled face only a four-legged mother could love. A massive and tongue-shooting beast he is, creative game masters might find the mini perfect for swamps, marshes or bogs as well, perhaps shrinking him down to a more manageable size- though no less dangerous if you get that toxic slime on your skin.

The third miniature in this Talespire update is the long-awaited magic hammer, a bright and shining weapon of the woad held aloft by powers naught understood by man. This pink and blue battle-ready model shines bright on any board you choose to place it on, whether a holy weapon of the devoted, an enchanted artifact haunting an abandoned manor, or whatever purpose you can imagine this ethereal slammer was conjured for. Finally, the towering treant with a glowing green eye lumbers forth onto your screen and towards your players, animated limbs filled with strength only the most valiant can hope to abet. Is this abomination brought to life to defend the creatures of its magical wooded home? Maybe it is a summon by your fey druid to defend the chosen representative of the forest! Or perhaps foul magic leaks from its rotting wood, a grisly and horrifying warning of the perils waiting in a blighted, necrotic corner where the dead whisper in their unlife…

These four assets for Talespire have their own important niches that you might’ve never realized you needed filled. The attention to their shape as well as digital details the developers gave to their 3D models allows all four of these minis to look fantastic at any size or distance, and you’ll capture amazing images of awakened trees charging the magic weapon-wielding cleric with no effort at all! Need a slab to set the stage for this scene? Why not try this enclosed swamp slab off of Tales Tavern? With a bit of atmospheric lighting customization you can make this terrain tileset a perfect home of the fey for your adventurers to come knocking. Thanks for supporting the devs on this journey, and enjoy your time with Talespire and its Enchanted Forest booster pack!
