A medium – large sized map with  a mix of dungeon and outdoor zones. Guaranteed to burn your players to ashes!

A fire worshiping cult has built a dangerous fortress across a giant chasm full of lava. Would you be able to rescue the prisioners / kill their bosses / loot their treasures while avoiding the deadly streams of molten rock?

This is a board with plenty of space for encounters, with some interesting set pieces:

  • large bridges crossing  across the lava river, perfect for some aerial enemies to pester your players on a narrow space.
  • a lava channel inside the dungeon that can be cut from the mechanism on another room (with a hide volume to remove the lava).
  • an extensible bridge (with hide volumes to slowly extend it)
  • a descent throug a lava pit, jumping from floating platforms
  • a final boss style room, complete with a balcony where the cult watches the sacrifice of prisioners.
  • cells to keep those prisioners so your players have to explore and find a way to get them out.
  • A giant rock dragon head, just because  you have to be evil in style!

There are cliffs and outdoor basalt zones, good for climbing and some “out of the box” exploring, but its recommended to not let the players wander too much (or they could skip the whole dungeon). There is a Start bookmark as a suggestion, letting the players explore the cliffs or go down the pit, but the map is quite easy to adapt for your own means.  Some building pieces are included in a hide volume so you can modify the map easily while keeping the general style.
