A true classic from Dungeon and Dragon’s history, the Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan challenges all who enter and annihilates any unprepared.  A terrible gas fills your lungs as you awaken in the first room, slowly being poisoned you realize there’s no time for rest – you must escape as soon as possible.
Debuted in 1979 as a competition module, the Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan was a challenge for a group of 3 to escape in a mere 2 hours.  As faithfully as I could I have rebuilt the entire dungeon for TaleSpire – complete with an obsessive level of shorthand GM notes placed throughout, atmosphere blocks, hide volumes, creatures with correct HP and even optional suggestions for GMs.  This build took over 150 hours, and includes some other content and inspirations by the following:

Inspirations taken from Hobbitrex1313’s Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan build which can be found here: https://talestavern.com/slab/the-hidden-shrine-of-tamoachan/
A board that represents the introduction sequence before players crash into the first room of the dungeon was made by Istallri Astra, who created the Hissing Temple which can be found here: https://talestavern.com/slab/the-hissing-temple/
And lastly, a “plug” covering one of the floors was actually made using pieces of the Shrines, Alters and Temples template made by AJillustrate, which can be found here: https://talestavern.com/slab/shrines-alters-and-temple-templates/

Make sure to use the Green Haze fog throughout most of the dungeon.
Area 33 needs a pixel perfect water level to properly show the rivers in the diorama
Tiers 1, 2 and 3 after the lower levels have hide volumes that overlap in some areas – be careful when revealing them so you don’t reveal levels above where your players are.  Hopefully TaleSpire will release a hide volume slider similar to the green layers slider someday.

If you use this map, please let me hear your thoughts! I’ve worked very hard on this and it would make my day to hear when someone gives it a shot 🙂

UPDATE:
Replaced a dragon egg that was used in place of a Gas Spore, it is now using the new beholder style miniature
Went over and noticed the Neirid’s room was missing the glowing crystals, they have now been added.

Changed up a couple Hide Volumes, added water tiles to the top board, added a water level guide for Area 33, changed up a diagonal hallway to just be straight and angled at 90 degrees, changed a couple miniatures to more accurately reflect their representations.
