The End of Summer festival is celebrated each year. With fun activities and many things to see, why not treat your group to an adventure in the fairgrounds this festival season? Follow the instructions below for the stall information, or make your own.

SUMMER’S END FESTIVAL

  1. Entrance. Here you pay to enter the festival grounds. You also have to purchase fair tickets. 3 copper for 1, 4 tickets for 1 silver and 10 for 2 silver. Tickers are used as currency on the fair grounds. But still beware of pickpockets.
  2. Warm Beverage Shop. From tea, hot cocoa and a foreign drink called Co’fee, this shop has all the drinks you need for a cold autumn night.
  3. Elven Made. They say these weapons are elven made, but I am not so sure about that. Still, they look pretty.
  4. Face Painting. Has your little one ever wanted to be a goblin? Why not let them paint their face and pretend to be one. While you are at it, get some war paint for yourself as well.
  5. Poison The King Game. Well this game is just bad taste. The aim is to throw a poison berry into the King’s drinking tankard. Don’t worry, its not really poison and its not really the king. The more berries you throw in, the better your prize.
  6. Mirror Salesman. Believe it or not, you can now own your own mirror. They sell themselves.
  7. Painter. Ever wanted a portrait of yourself? Now you can. For a small fee an artist can paint a quick picture of you and or your friends. You just have to sit still for a while. Think you can manage?
  8. Theatre Stage. The theatre group is putting on a series of plays, and they are for free. They even have audience participation activities.
  9. Snake Oil. Snake oil is a cure all for everything. But if you need some vanishing cream or love potions, you’ve come to the right place. However, our products don’t come with a guarantee and we have a charge on return policy.
  10. Fur Trader. Trades furs. Most of these rare furs are from the far north.
  11. Scribes. These fellows do all your scribing needs. Need to pen a letter? Need to draw a map? Then you’ve come to the right place. They also sell ink and paper. So now just about anyone can try their hand at writing.
  12. Book Store. Books from around the continent and beyond. There is no telling what treasures you might find between these pages.
  13. Sweet and Candies Stall. Can’t have a fair without the treats. These are quite special. Some of them burst in your mouth, while others change flavour. Whatever wizardry they used, these sweets are delicious.
  14. Lamp and Oil Salesman. Oil and lamps for sale. For those adventurers who find themselves in the darkest of places from time to time.
  15. Beer Tent. Beer and other alcoholic beverages…. but mostly beer.
  16. King for a Day. Ever wanted to be a king for a day? Now you can be. Enter this tent and experience what it is like to be a king. The walls might be made from wood and paint, but the illusionary window makes it feel like you are in the royal palace looking down. There is also a table with a mysterious game on it. The player must move their army and roll the dice against other players if they want to invade territory. What is odd about this table is that when it is not your turn, the pieces move by themselves and so does the dice. Don’t tell anyone, but it is a quasit familiar who loves to play these kinds of games…. and sometimes cheat.
  17. Small Stage. The bard provides the music, and you provide the song. Get on stage and sing your lungs out. Everyone else is doing it.
  18. Fighting Ring. Where locals settle their differences or just catch up with old friends. Place a bet or get into the ring yourself.
  19. Barrel Run. Two players. Each start on an end of the course. They have to balance on their barrels and get to the other side without falling off. When passing each other, they are allowed to try and push each other off. The first one to land safely on the other side is the winner.
  20. Food Tent. Hmm. That smells good. From cakes to stews, they have just about everything here.
  21. Mender’s Tent. Sometimes the party gets out of hand. That is why there is a mender on hand to take care of any wounds or injuries. Het bandaged up and back to drinking and enjoying yourself.
  22. Puppet Show. Though this is for the little ones, some of the jokes are aimed at an older audience. Everyone can enjoy the show.
  23. Used Magic Items. They say used, but they should say useless. From a bag of holding that likes to be held, or a ring of teleportation that teleports without the caster. These magical items are magic, they’re just not useful. Well, perhaps the most creative and cunning can think of a use for them?
  24. Fortune Teller. The fortune teller can tell you your past, your present and your future. They can also sell you a fate. But beware, if you mess with the grand scheme, you will also receive a curse.
  25. The Haunted House. Really? These are all muppets on strings. We’ve seen worse in the last dungeon we cleared out. Still…. what is this awful feeling of dread that fills me? Something is not right here. We should leave.
  26. Backstage. This is the tent where the actors reside and prepare for their next performance.
  27. The Caravan Master’s Tent. Need to discuss business? The caravan master does not see just about anyone. Especially not with an appointment.
  28. Holding Tent. Well, you’ve done it. You’ve landed us in the holding tent. Now we have to wait here to be released with the other drunks.
  29. Levy. What is that smell? Oh. This is where the fairgoers go to relive themselves. A bucket boy throws cleans out the outhouses with buckets and pours the unwanted refuge down a hole… but where does it go?
  30. Horse Pen. Visitors can stable their horses here while they enjoy the fair.
  31. Main Staging Grounds. The main staging grounds is where most of the events take place.
    1. Archery Contest
    2. Pig Catching
    3. Chicken Chasing
    4. Tug of War
    5. Bull Riding
    6. Rock Throwing
    7. And more

We hope you will enjoy the fair. If you are looking for more ideas for the adventure, why not check out  Fun For the People. It was a great source of inspiration for this map.
