The Grimhills were an elvish family of wealth which they gained through the funerary business. Specifically, due to a plague that passed through the local town, decimating the population. The bodies got so numerous that they had to start burying the bodies on their own property.
Eventually the family died off with the exception of their youngest daughter, Elenya. Named after the elvish word for beauty, Elenya was the most beautiful woman in town; a fact that brought her many suitors. She had no interest in the family business and instead used her beauty to gain gifts from her many suitors. She strung them all along, as they bought her art, jewelry and other things of beauty. Between their gifts and her inheritance, she wanted for nothing.
Along came a human name Edgar who desired Elenya and her wealth more than anything. He wormed his way into her life using jewelry he had stolen to woo her. Unbeknownst to either of them, a particular necklace he gave her was cursed. The necklace turned Elenya cold and irritable. She grew to hate being around other people and ultimately strangled Edgar when he tried to kiss her. From that point no one visited the manor anymore and it fell into disrepair, with the exception of Elenya’s bedrom, where she stayed and shunned the world. Her body and mind decayed until she died and became a banshee. She has haunted the grounds of Grimhill Manor ever since, protecing her collection of art and jewelry. She occasionally wanders the countryside and murders people who have beautiful things she can add to her collection.
