Copyright & DMCA Policy

Effective: November 1, 2026

Tales Tavern respects creators' rights, and we expect our members to do the same. Everything on the site is posted by community members. If you think something infringes your copyright, tell us and we'll act on it promptly.

Quick reports

For most problems, the fastest route is the Report link on the slab or board's page. Choose "Copyright" and tell us what's wrong. We read every report.

Formal DMCA notices

To send a formal notice under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, send our designated agent a written notice that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed.
  3. The link to each page on Tales Tavern with the material you want removed.
  4. Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

Designated agent:
Donald Cole
Cole eVentures, Inc.
33 Bower Lane, Ladera Ranch, CA 92694
Email: [email protected]

We'll remove or disable access to the material and let the member who posted it know.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same agent that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. The material that was removed and where it appeared.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you live outside the US, any judicial district where we may be found), and that you will accept service from the person who sent the original notice.

We'll forward your counter-notice to the person who complained. If they don't tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of members who repeatedly post infringing material.

Please be accurate

Knowingly misrepresenting that something infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, can make you liable for damages. If you're unsure whether something infringes, consider getting legal advice first.
