Accessibility Statement

Effective: November 1, 2026

We want everyone to be able to find, share and use TaleSpire creations on Tales Tavern, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive technology.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.

What we do

  • Build pages that work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a "Skip to content" link.
  • Choose text and control colours that meet WCAG contrast requirements.
  • Label buttons, forms and images, and announce important changes, such as "Copied" or the number of search results, to screen readers.
  • Keep tap targets at least 44 pixels on phones, and respect your device's "reduce motion" setting.
  • Check new pages with automated accessibility testing, and test the main tasks (searching, opening a slab, copying its code, posting) by keyboard and with a screen reader.

Known limitations

  • Older creations: images posted before 2026 often lack detailed descriptions. Their text alternative is the creation's title.
  • Creator content: descriptions, images and videos are written by community members, and we can't guarantee they are accessible.
  • The TaleSpire Symbiote: this runs inside TaleSpire's own panel, which limits what assistive technology can reach.
  • Third parties: embedded videos, payment pages and ads come from outside services with their own accessibility support.
