Hill-Dwarf Family Home – Medieval Fantasy City Module
“Shortly after the Great Collapse, when the surviving dwarves arraived near the surface, a decision had to be made: Rebuild inside the mountain or begin a new life outside under the sun. When no agreement could be made, they split into two groups: One that stayed below the rocky ceilings and one that ventured forth to settle under the open sky. The latter ones are now known as hill dwarves. They created vast, reenforced artificial terraces on which they build big houses with very solid foundations, but lighter, more flexible wooden constructions on top.” – on the origin of hill dwarves
This is the home of a player character in my current D&D campaign. It has enough bedrooms and several workshops for the entire family (parents and several siblings). Some details may be specific to my homebrew setting, but the build should be versatile enough to employ it in different campaign worlds as well.
Some features:
- central living-room+kitchen+carpet weaving room
- blade smith workshop
- sculptor workshop
- leather workshop
- bathing/washing facilities and toilets in the basement (“There’s running water coming out of the wall!”)
- several bedrooms
