Goblin Camp
“We carefully snuck towards the edge of the gorge and peered down. A hidden goblin camp! Now that’s not unheard of, is it? But this was different.
It was no war camp. Sure, it looked hastely put together, but there were elderly goblins and younglings amongst them, and too few warriors. Their equipment was light and they looked tired and hungry. Even stranger, how silent they were. Goblins usually cause quite a ruckus, even in their own places. Not this time. Instead they maintained only small fires of dry wood without visible smoke, whilst carfully paying attention to any noise.
They were afraid of something! They were on the run. This was a refugee camp. We wondered what could have terrified them so much, that they fled for over a hundred miles southwards from the mountains towards human territory. That’s when we heard the most horrible war cry imaginable and all hell broke lose…”
Another location from my campaign world, which my players might visit some time: A goblin refugee camp, hidden in a gorge. The idea is, that not the goblins are the threat here but something else. I’ll leave that to your imagination.
The map should be easily adaptable for other types of inhabitants and/or situations.
