Red Rockets are a regular sight across the Wasteland, the ever-familiar tip of the rocket jutting up across the horizon, offering a semblance of familiarity no matter where you are. Most Red Rockets share the same layout, with a main building containing service rooms, a forecourt outside featuring ancient coolant pumps. This Red Rocket service station is tucked into a bend in an old country road. It’s a small part of the corporate chain that stretches across the wasteland, with a small main building and a tiny forecourt. Cars rust away across the place. A smaller, intact car on the road has been partially taken apart, with tools still on the blue chassis and various parts carefully placed down on the asphalt. The station itself has three rooms. An open garage door faces the road, with a workshop inside. An armor workstation at its center, with weapon and armor workbenches along the opposite walls, with a hunting rifle quietly waiting on one of the benches. Beyond the garage lies a convenience store, picked clean in the years after the War. A cash register bolted to the counter is the only furniture left. Someone tried to pry it open recently, judging by the hammer and screwdriver next to it. The last room is an office with signs of life: There’s a sleeping bag on the floor, next to a suitcase containing carefully arranged old clothes, .308 rounds, and a dog-eared copy of Fixin’ Things. you determine that whoever is staying here can’t be far away.
