Like all festival games, this seemingly simple game is rigged so as to make it near impossible to win. The hammer is deceptively light so as not to transfer much of one’s strength to the strike (providing disadvantage to the attempt) and the lever you strike doesn’t have much wiggle room so it does not propel the weight particularly far, even if one can get a solid smack on it, which takes a DC 20 Strength(Athletics) check. The barker has a secret button they can press that allows more freedom to the lever, lowering the DC to 10 should customers get too discouraged and wish proof that it is actually doable.
