Looking to sow chaos into the prime material plane, the demon Orcus threw his wand through a portal. The crashed into a frozen corner of a forest, crashing through ice and snow before bobbing back up in a geyser of rapidly frozen water. Ancient bodies in the area rose from their rest and surrounded the wand, protecting the unholy wand from forces that may seek to destroy it that it may ultimately be claimed by one worthy of the demon god, who would carry out his will to destroy the living and fill the universe with undead.
