Ch. 2E-5-1: Midway Haven (Undead Sea Scrolls 2002)
SETUP:
Familiarize yourself with the Of Secret Skies and Troubled Lands story at the end of this document and then read the first description as players arrive.

As you trek near the north coast of Lake Zarovich your eye catches a glare. Your party follows this sudden flash of light until they stumble upon what appears to be an observatory? Hospice? The sign reads Midway Haven, and then a 6 foot tall man with yellowish blond hair approaches you with a smile, but his most notable feature is the falcon resting upon one arm he keeps outstretched as he approaches.

Midway Haven is made up of three buildings, the Observatory, the Hospice, and the Dormitory.

Welcome to Midway Haven! As detailed in The Undead Sea Scrolls 2002.

I’ve included Druinor d’Yantra and Astrilax diCorvi, along with a handful of Celestines (Commoner stat blocks).

Midway Haven is between the Village and Barovia and Vallaki, and is run by a group of individuals known as Celestines. They study the stars and believe the stars hold the power to see past, present, and future events.

Druinor d’Yantra recently opened up the facilities as a hospice while still serving as an observatory for the Celestine.

I have a working document for those interested that includes snippets from the original story along with narration for DM’s.

Changelog.

Version 1.0 – Release
Version 1.1 – I’ve added atmosphere fog, extended the entrance, added more details and included a night atmosphere.
Version 1.2 – Updated naming scheme, new atmospheres for Dawn, Midday, Dusk, and Night to include combat variants, and small terrain detailing.
