Random Encounter - A Curious Gorge

A precarious bridge made of wood and rope connects two sides of a deep gorge, and a long fall into fast-moving water awaits anyone unlucky enough (or not dexterous enough) to lose their footing. A small campsite lies mostly hidden behind trees and rocks -- does it belong to a fellow traveler? A group of bandits? Perhaps the resident is no longer nearby, or worse, no longer alive. Suddenly, nearby howls of dire wolves pierce through the thrumming din of the rapids below, and the party shares nervous glances as they realize the latter may be all too likely...

I created this slab to use for random encounters in a Curse of Stradh campaign. Bringing the fog level just past the lip of the gorge, yet thin enough to still make out the water down below, creates the perfect atmosphere for adventurers in the Shadowfell-adjacent demiplan of Barovia.
