Mysterious Sea Merchant

What at first appears to be a strange little raft floating out at sea, turns out to be the shop of a mysterious travelling merchant. Propelled by magic, this raft is more than meets the eye. The owner of the raft seems to be perfectly fine sailing alone (at least, alone other than his pet cat), even in the most treacherous of waters, and is always willing to make a deal with any passing ships. Despite appearing to be easy pickings for pirates as his raft is heavily laden with valuables and at least visibly void of defenses, the merchant fears nothing of would-be thieves or pillagers. This strange merchant must be more than he seems…
