Moonless sky dungeon
Slab
This is a small dungeon that was a lot of fun to run with my friends. I ran this in about 3 sessions of 4 hours each and there still was area that we’re unexplored.
The idea behind this dungeon is that the players are sent there thinking they have to eliminate what would be a nest of goblins that are using the ruins as their hideout. They receive the quest from the Oddvar (mayor of Saxondale, a nearby town to the ruins). They we’re asked to eliminate the goblins and rescues the hostages that we’re taking during raid (3 slaves, 1 female child of a noble man and 1 high priestess). The players are shown the way to the ruins by Bakas SilentStep a local hunter who knows how to navigate the forest undetected. Upon navigating the ruins, the players will quickly realize that something bigger is happening in those ruins and that they must discover the truth of what lies here.
The idea is that the goblins are under controls of a powerful sorcerer who whishes to summon a demon lord. The ritual takes place in the room with the pillars (section_L). When the players first enter the room, I would give them about 10 to 15 turn to stop the ritual which consist of a series a phrase and at the end the sacrifice of a high priestess.
The players starts in the forest and from there, multiple path are offered to them. The obvious one being the entrance under the rocks but if they look around they might find another way in (behind the house there is somes door hidden under the leafs). They might also chose to go down the well which lead to the sewers and can bring them anywhere there is a sewage entrance in the map.
This is simply the slab if ever someone what to use it and run it with its own story. I am working to gather all my notes into a document and share inside a campaign with the original board which includes all the hidden box.
I will update this slab when I have the board up and ready with the documentation.
