The cloud giant Mariah Stratus lives happily in her modest home among the clouds. There she has a hill giant servant named Jeniva who tends the farm, does the cooking and takes care of Mariah’s prized pet wyvern: Bane. She’s perfectly happy living on her own and singing. However, she does have a weakness for gambling and will occasionally come down from her cloud home to kidnap folk and wager them for their freedom. She is quite good at judging people so she always chooses wagers where she would have an advantage. For example. she might challenge someone who seems unsuited for combat to a duel with her servant or wyvern. Conversely if they seem to be a sturdy lout with little in the brains department, she might challenge them to a strategy game or a game of cards.
Above all, Mariah hates to lose and isn’t above tossing someone off of her cloud, should they upset her overly much.
