Monster Lair – Bugbear – Bugbear Village
Slab

At the foot of a mountain, the bugbear village stands menacingly behind its imposing wooden palisade. Smoke from cookfires rises into the air, mingling with the acrid smell of blood and decay. The bugbear chieftain’s stone hall dominates the settlement, housing a grim shrine to Hruggek where blood offerings stain the altar. Outside, a crude pen holds prisoners destined for dark purposes. Surrounding the chieftain’s hall, sturdy wooden buildings shelter the bugbears, while clusters of tents serve as homes for their hobgoblin and goblin underlings. The hobgoblin and goblin captains maintain strict order, ensuring their kin serve the bugbears’ brutal agenda. The constant presence of guards and the occasional wail from the prisoner pen create an oppressive atmosphere, warning outsiders to tread carefully—or not at all.
