Monster Lair – Beholder – Seeton
Slab

The village of Seeton appears idyllic to the average observer but secretly, hidden at the bottom of the town’s dry well is the lair of a beholder who rules the town with an iron fist, so to speak. The lair below is designed to be difficult to access by non-beholders, with vertical shafts and doors built high into walls utilized to take advantage of the beholder’s natural levitation. The lair consists of a large main chamber where a beholder can easily take care of intruders by staying out of reach and using its many beam weapons. The four chambers it has sculpted out of the stone with its disintegration vision consist of a treasure room where it keeps valuables, a slave room where it keeps members of the local village as collateral to keep them working for it, a trophy room where it keeps statues and bones of its enemies and a vision room where it has several magical mirrors that have been enchanted to show it areas around the village and lair so it can safely observe what is going on everywhere in its “kingdom” without risk.
