Manor House
Board

“Yes, it is the type of house one would expect from people of standing: grand, old-fashioned, mysterious, and presented with a touch of darkness.”
I have a riddle loaden one-shot adventure I wrote years back and had run only once before. Thus I planned to run it again, but I wanted to give the presentation a proper facelift and do it with TaleSpire. It was quite difficult to turn the chunky hand drawn floor plans I originally made into something that looks at least somewhat nice in 3D. After creating an incomplete initial build like a year ago, I recently decided to revise and complete it.
The resulting manor house, complete with salon, library, dining hall, kitchen etc. is fitted to suit specifics of my adventure, but I think you could create a lot of different plots for this map: a ghost story, a murder mystery, a heist, a romantic drama or a treasure hunt.
Woah, this is some really nice place to meet a deceiving noble or vampire lord for the Party ^^
Also this looks so simply, yet intruiging, i wish i could be as simple as that with detail.
I am not sure what you mean by “simple” ^^;
Getting it to it’s current look was anything but that. The first roof I built was way too voluminous. I also realized that the tile combo I chose for the walls, didn’t really work and had to be redone completely, after most the walls had already been build. The new, lower roof made it necessary to build that central tower to break up the silhouette of the building, which again went through several iterations of modification.
Also, for some reason, I decided to buld the manor on a slope, which is quite a hassle if one wants to avoid the minecraft look of the terrain.
Ye thats true, the plain terrain is something i also struggle with, when i make big boards i get lost at building, normally i can do good landscapes but struggle to “detail” them as like your garden /nature look with all that wildgrowth. But hey you finished it didnt you? ^^ thats worth something, despite the hassle.
Your unique combinations of assets continue to impress me! Love your style. Easily one of my favorite builders ^_^
Thank you very much! Finding the right wall types for this house was a bit of trial and error. At one point I basically had to rebuild all above ground walls. ^^;
