Step 1: Paste in location
Step 2: In the GM overlay [tab] select the Convert Prop to Creature tool and turn each piece into a creature.
Step 3: Right click each piece and set its size in the GM Tools option according to the info below.
All Pawns: 0.5x0.5 tiles
White King and Queen: 0.5x0.5 tiles
Black Knights: 1x1 tiles
Black Rooks: 0.5x0.5 tiles
All other pieces should be the correct size by default, but the additional pictures show what it should look like if there ends up being trouble.
