Quests from the Infinite Staircase – Chapter 2: The Lost City
Campaign

The Lost City

(Some elements of the maps were changed from the official adventure book versions. See changes below)

Based on the newest release of this adventure in the Quests from the Infinite Staircase officially released adventure book, this campaing features dungeon-delving, roleplaying and a myriad of things to find and explore. The campaing features ready-to-use Hide Volume blocs to act as Fog of War for each of the six layers of the dungeon.

9 Boards

This section of the campaing was separated in nine boards for better movement through the dungeon. While it would be possible to combine all nine, TaleSpire’s Fog of War options (Hide Volumes) being what they are, in addition to how easy it is to lose a character’s tokens when multiple layers are present made the decision to opt for multiple boards easy.

Lobby

Have your players wait for everyone in this waiting room.

Dagger Falls

Start your adventure in this classic city of the Sword Coast, East from the desert of Anauroch, where all your adventurers will meet, stock up for supplies and prepare for the adventure! This map was taken from Drazurez Venetor map, slightly edited to add a funeral pyre.

Desert Road

On their way to the Lost City Dungeon, will something happen to the adventurers? An ambush would be perfect, in the middle of the desert by some greedy creatures!

Tier 1-Tier 5 & Zigurat Expanded

Explore a long-lost temple filled with weird people, treasures and danger.

Changes

These changes are listed in the order that they would appear in the adventure book. There are changes to rooms’ creatures/encounters as well, but they won’t be listed here. Small changes due to a transfer between a 2D map to 3D (due to thickness of walls), aesthetics (decorations) and limitations (doors in the middle of a square) are omitted.

  • Tier 1 no major changes. Only the Ziggurat’s top tier is visible, rather than the whole five tiers.
  • Tier 2
    • A cover over the staircase South-West was placed for Fog-of-War effect.
  • Tier 3
    • Added a secret passage leaving room B20, so that a specific character can use it in case of emergency.
  • Tier 4
    • Added two dead-ends between room B33 and B34.
One of them is trapped. The purpose is to allow players to expect dead-ends while exploring.
    • Added another dead-end near room B35.
    • Tightened the passage between B41 and B42.
Ideal to hold your position if you’re inside …
    • Added a tunnel being dug out of B42.
Rival explorers stuck there attempt to dig an exit.
    • Added partially-revealed stairs near the tunnel at B42
The inhabitants of the zigurat needed a way up and down tiers 4&5, large enough to carry building materials, etc. and the “official” path is too narrow.
  • Tier 5
    • Added a small armory near room B55.
This room might be useful if you want to introduce Nafas to the adventurers, or use its door as a portal to his area.
    • Added the bottom of a staircase at near room B56
The inhabitants of the zigurat needed a way up and down tiers 4&5, large enough to carry building materials, etc. and the “official” path is too narrow.
  • Zigurat Expanded
    • Room B64’s chutes are displayed at the same height as the room for ease of access.
    • The layer’s rooms’ elevations have been libertly changed.
