The Shatters” map from part 3 of the free demo adventure Shattered Hope for the Dark Heresy Warhammer 40k RPG by Fantasy Flight Games. The adventure is easy to find with a simple google search. I might add a made up version of part 1 & 2 in a future update, but both are supposed to be theater of the mind so you don’t need them to run the adventure. The map itself is complete and ready for play.

The Shatters Notes & Tips for running board:

  • Best played in Darkness Atmosphere settings
  • Map is actually 3x larger than listed in Shattered Hope (1 meter in Doc = 3 meters/10 feet in Talespire)
  • Before bringing in characters to the board, I recommend hiding all the preset hide volumes, then setting up a new hide volume that covers the entire map(except Area 1) before play starts. Just delete that hide volume once you open the elevator doors to make it easier to work with other hide volumes.
  • I’ve placed some character minis for each Role next to Area 1 in case you need one for a quick premade character.
  • Hidden Numbers in GM mode identify which cutscene box goes to which area.
  • Preplaced NPCs have had their HP stat adjusted to mark their Wounds as listed in Shattered Hope.
  • I recommend Battle-Ambushed & Battle-Darkwood Attack for combat music.
  • Area 1 is just a basic entrance in Shattered Hope, took the artistic liberty of changing it into an elevator shaft.
  • Area 3 You can have the Mutant Guardsman melee attack the Desecrated Guardsman for added sound effect (to draw attention) and also cinematic RP.
  • Area 6’s third stone pillar has a hide volume over the light to reflect that the light isn’t working. You can rapidly toggle on/off the visibility for a cool flickering light effect.
  • Area 9 has a upper and lower hide volume.
  • Area 10’s hide volume only has its light filter on, as the area is meant to be dark. Simply turn on the tiles & props filter to hide the area.
