I’ve been working on something big: a complete rebuild of Tales Tavern from the ground up. Before we launch, I need a small group of people to help put it through its paces.
Why the rebuild?
Honestly, the current site has become hard to maintain and slow to improve. The new platform will be faster, more flexible, and much easier to build on, so once we’re live I can start adding features quickly instead of fighting the old system.
What I’d love to add after launch
- New tools for working with slabs and boards
- Possibly some AI features to help with building things for TaleSpire
- Support for uploading minis and creatures (yes, I know, we’re behind on this one!)
…and hopefully a lot more, which is where you come in.
What beta testers will do
This is a stress test, so I want you to really use it. Upload content, comment, edit your profile, change account settings, poke at everything, and try to break things. Then tell me what broke, what felt clunky, and what you wish the site could do. Testers can also join a private Discord channel to swap notes and brainstorm features together.
Fair warning: the design is still rough and being polished over the next few weeks. Right now we’re focused on making sure everything works.
Spots are limited, and testers will be rewarded
I’m looking for folks who can spend real time on the site over the next few weeks. Active testers will receive a free membership of up to a full year once the new site launches, based on how involved you are. Bug reports, feedback, and feature ideas all count.
If you’re interested but not sure you’ll have the time, no hard feelings. Jump in after launch instead!
A little transparency
I added ads because subscriptions alone weren’t covering the costs. My hope is that with the new platform, lower costs, and features you actually want, we can build something people are happy to support, and be able to remove advertising entirely.
How to sign up
Email support@talestavern.com with the subject “Beta Tester” and include:
- The email you’d like to use for the beta
- Your Tales Tavern username (if you have one)
- A sentence or two on how you use the site, or what you’d want to test
Once you’re in, you’ll find a full guide on what to test on the beta site.
Thanks for being part of this community!
