The F.S. Darkstar
Board

Among Tiraxus’s most impressive airships are the Family Ships, or Free Ships. They are both flying fortresses and whole towns in and of themselves. Beholden to no faction, they fly from island to island trading their wares and staying out of whatever wars or politics The Maelstrom involves itself in. The F.S. Darkstar is one such ship, trading in primarily lumber as well as weapons and cannonballs made by the ship’s resident Frost Giant.
The top deck has a restaurant, bookstore, as well as an impressive elevated helm. The main building serves as the captain’s quarters and barracks. To remain self-sufficient, there are also crops and livestock cultivated on the stern of the ship.
The most impressive section of the ship is below decks, where a whole town nestles in the guts of the ship. It has a lively tavern, a market street, as well as a weapon shop where Goblins store their reserves until docking with trade-worthy islands. This is also where the Frost Giant spends his days forging with whatever ore is given to him. The Mayor’s house is tucked away on the port side and there are also many cobbled-together homes overlooking the busy thoroughfare.
The bottoms level supports engineering on the port side, and a series of the citizen’s apartments on the starboard side.
I just discovered Talespire a few days ago, but I’m hooked. The Dungeon Master in me has been waiting for something like this program my whole life I think.
I hope you enjoy exploring the Darkstar as much as I enjoyed making it! I couldn’t help myself and hid three treasure chests somewhere on the ship. Let me know when you find all three!
