City Gate – Imperial City Module
Slab

“The empire is an oppressive place. The nobles claim divine ancestry and it has really gone to their heads. Cruel and distrustful they are. It is a bad place to travel and a worse place to live in: Brutal officers and guards police everything. Informers snitch on the slightest hint of opposition. The wealthy keep plenty of slaves with all the horrors that come with that. Terrible punishments are dealt out for “crimes” against the persisting order. War is considered the usual means to achieve greedy goals. Corruption is rampant. Their ways are reflected in their architecture. The nobles live in decadent palaces, their soldiers man powerful fortresses and the normal citizens lock themselves away into privacy. Best way for a lowly one to exist in the empire is unseen and unheard.”
This slab ist a city gate with two watch towers. It is part of my module set “Imperial City”, which I created for my homebrew D&D campaign world.
[More to come]
This is great but I don’t recognize the buildings in the background. They aren’t yours, are they? I am sure lots of people would love to see a full-size city with all your buildings and the walls, like PsiaBaba’s upcoming build. I don’t think anyone else can do justice to it but you. I might give it a try myself but I am not very confident in my skills.
Thanks. The background buildings are mine, too. Most of them are not ready for publishing though. I just wildly stacked them to create a background. One was taken from my “Hero Quest Homage Dioramas”. I don’t know if I’ll ever build a full city. It would probably ask too much performance from my hardware.
Understood. I will have to attempt a full city myself then. How about a castle? That’s the ultimate build for a fantasy game. Just sayin’. I would love to see one in your style. And P.S. I wouldn’t mind renting you a Shadow cloud computer for a month if you felt like doing a city build. I am in the TS Discord if you ever feel like setting that up, just shoot me a message. That’s what I use for myself and they’re very fast.
Beautiful work, as always!
Thank you very much! =)
